EDIFACT Overview
EDItEUR has from the beginning worked with EAN International (now GS1) so that EDItEUR guidelines use the EANCOM subset of EDIFACT, and specifically EANCOM 97 (based on UN/EDIFACT D.96A).
EDItEUR has developed EDIFACT guidelines for transactions used in trade book supply, in book supply to libraries, and in some specific areas of journal supply to libraries. Further extension of EDIFACT formats is unlikely, but existing formats will continue to be supported until further notice and user requests for additional functionality (usually in the form of new code values) can be emailed to us.
Current ecommerce developments at EDItEUR are focused on the EDItX XML transaction messages.
