EDItEUR currently has more than 110 members in 25 countries around the world. Membership is open to all organizations with an interest in metadata and identifier standards and e-commerce in the global book and serials sectors, and to relevant associations representing such organizations.
There are a number of levels of membership:
- Charter Member – by invitation, for members of the EDItEUR Ltd Board
- International Member – aimed at large multinational organisations operating in many different countries
- Full Member – most organisations are full members of EDItEUR
- Associate Member – by invitation, for certain national libraries and university teaching departments
EDItEUR makes most of its work – its standards, associated software tools, reports and other material – available free of charge to all, for the good of the global publishing industry. Membership helps to ensure this can continue. But members also have a strong voice in the future development direction of our standards: they provide essential input to the development process, informing and improving the standards and ensuring they meet the real needs of the industry. Members also enjoy greater access to EDItEUR’s expertise and advice.
Members of EDItEUR have access to all EDItEUR standards and reports, receive regular bulletins and drafts of all work in progress and are invited to comment and provide input to the standards development process either at special meetings or via email.
