Digital Publishing Forum: Transforming Digital Content for Practitioner Needs

Publishers across the board are beginning to build on traditional book and journal content to create solutions for practitioner communities. This Digital Publishing Forum will feature speakers representing three different communities with three different solutions.

Helena Brown, Technical Director of Jordan Publishing will describe their own digital solutions for legal practitioners in family law.

James Rennoldson, Digital Product Manager for Writers and Artists, Bloomsbury Publishing will speak about the services build on the venerable Writers and Artists Year Book which range from publications to courses.

Breda Corish, Digital Solutions Director, Elsevier Health Solutions will explain Clinical Key, a mammoth project based on nearly 2000 books and journals for both the institutional and individual clinical market place.

All the speakers have been asked to describe the internal processes which led to the recognition of need and the way to satisfy it with information about the choices made and the technologies used. They have also been asked to speculate about the relationship of these solutions to traditional books and journals and whether the latter will fade away or remain with a purpose and market of their own.
