Digital Publishing Forum: Online Copyright Infringement: a winning battle?

In the early years of the transition from the physical marketplace to today’s physical-plus-digital world, online copyright infringement ripped a hole in the revenues of many creative sectors. In recent years, however, thanks to a combination of policy developments and strong and attractive legal offerings, the creators have been fighting back.

This seminar will look at the policy and commercial choices facing a range of British creative sectors as they have learned to deal with, and begun to overcome, the challenges posed by online copyright infringement. It will also discuss the extent to which publishing needs to engage with the main policy tools, such as the Digital Economy Act.
